Message wiring harness under normal Z32 conditions for at least 100k miles and/or 10 years. If you replace your harness every 100k/10yrs, you don't need to move it IMO..
The change is very logical, I did it previously. I didn't do it with the last round of maintenance activity on my TT which included installing new turbo's, o2's and engine wiring harness.
It's a good change for show but not needed for functional improvements and/or reliability IMO.
In addition, moving the PTU to that location will make it more susceptible to water and malfunctioning, so one could argue the pros vs. cons in either direction.
